The circuit, well known for having hosted 18 editions of the French Grand Prix between 1992 and 2008, serves yesterday and today as a testing ground for Pirelli for the development of tires for the next Formula 1 season. For two days, the Pirelli team is collaborating with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team to carry out these tests. Mick Schumacher, the reserve driver of the team, was at the wheel of the F1W15 on the first day.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Today was supposed to be a tire testing day in rainy weather at the Magny-Cours circuit, but there was actually too much rain for the tests to take place! \u00bb indicates the statement from Pirelli.<\/p>\n

Will the weather be milder on Wednesday?<\/h2>\n

Unfortunately, heavy rains limited the testing to only 29 laps for the German driver, setting a reference time of 1:39.72. Unable to gather reliable data in these conditions, Pirelli and Mercedes hope that the second day of testing will be more favorable, with George Russell taking over today to continue the tests.<\/p>\n

The British driver should have the opportunity to fit slick tires on the Nivernais track. This will allow the Italian manufacturer to continue developing its tires for the next Formula 1 season.<\/p>\n
