Personally, the Frenchman seemed satisfied with his driving during the race despite struggling with his car.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab I think it was one of my best races of the year. I was pushing to the limit from start to finish. I honestly don&#8217;t think there was anything more to achieve so I am satisfied,&#8221; he said on Canal +. The former Red Bull driver did not have high expectations for this race given Alpine&#8217;s struggles this season.<\/p>\n<p>The French team was hoping to benefit from a turn of events by starting on hard tires and going for a long stint at the beginning of the race. We knew that by starting on hard tires, we would stay on the track for as long as possible hoping for a safety car. Unfortunately, it arrived a little late [two laps from the end]. It was really complicated for us this weekend, added Pierre Gasly.<\/p>\n<h2>Try to come back to Williams<\/h2>\n<p>French driver had problems with his car again this Sunday, just like fifteen days ago in Italy. \u00ab In Monza, in Baku, it was very complicated [&#8230;] In the straight line we lose a lot, this weekend we were not really fast, we slide a lot, we have no traction\u2026 Now, we will have to understand why we are struggling so much. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>There are still seven Grand Prix races left for Pierre Gasly and his team to try to raise the bar and finish this laborious year on a high note. &#8220;There is a lot of work ahead of us, but I know that solutions will come. For next year but there are also things that will happen towards the end of the season. So we have to keep working, but it&#8217;s a shame today,&#8221; he notes.<\/p>\n<p>Starting from a new weekend without scoring any points, Alpine loses a position in the constructor championship, dropping to 9th place behind Williams. The team seems to have found a new lease of life for the end of the season, managing to place both of its drivers in the points this Sunday (Albon 7th and Colapinto 8th). Williams is scoring a lot of points, so it&#8217;s not good news for us. But there are still races left to try to catch up.
