They had started the weekend timidly. The free practice sessions were not very convincing. But like in Austin, Sarah Bovy excelled in qualifying to achieve the fourth best time.<\/p>\n

During the race, the Belgian continued to demonstrate her strength and talent behind the wheel. She quickly moved up to third place before climbing to second. She maintained a gap of a few seconds with the leading TF Sport Corvette #81 until a virtual safety car forced a strategy change.<\/p>\n

So, in the battle for the podium, a new virtual safety car ruined the Iron Ladies’ race. Michelle Gatting couldn’t take advantage of a free pit stop like all her competitors. This relegated the Lamborghini #85 to sixth place.<\/p>\n

Just 13 seconds away from victory<\/h2>\n

Then came a crazy battle for nearly an hour and a half with all the leading cars. The Iron Dames gained one more position, but couldn’t do better. The pack was very tight. The pink car completed the 6 Hours of Fuji just 13 seconds behind the Ferrari from the Vista AF Corse #54 team.<\/p>\n

\u00ab We had a lot of action today. We saw a lot of overtakes, a lot of incidents, it was super interesting to drive and I hope also to watch. For us, the race was consistent, we finished in the Top 5, which is important for us to score points and I am very happy. We all delivered a very good performance, Sarah, Michelle, myself, and the team. The pit stops were all very reliable. Overall, we can be satisfied with our performance,” says Rahel Frey.<\/p>\n

In Japan, the female trio made a good move. With the 8th place at D’station, the Lamborghini #85 regained the 7th place in the constructors’ standings. It remains in ambush and can hope to climb a little higher in the hierarchy. To do so, they will have to have a solid race and relegate the Vista AF Corse #55 and the WRT #46 far enough to reach the 5th position.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
