It’s coming. The end of the season of this World Endurance Championship is almost here. With two manufacturers standing out at the top of the standings, the last two events promise to be exciting. Porsche and Toyota are the top favorites to win the drivers’ and constructors’ titles.<\/p>\n

The German manufacturer, with car #6, is ahead of the Japanese car. The Japanese team is leading the way among the manufacturers. The Fuji race will be crucial in the hierarchy for these two rankings, and consequently for the attribution of the two titles. Competition will be fierce, and we are looking forward to getting back on track, summarizes Jonathan Diuguid, director of Porsche Penske Motorsport.<\/p>\n

\u00ab You always have to find a compromise with the car settings on this traditional Formula 1 circuit located at the foot of Mount Fuji,” explains Urs Kuratle, director of the LMDh factory Motorsport department. \u00ab The start-finish straight is nearly 1.5 kilometers long. Low drag and very high top speed are essential there. Other sections of the circuit require exactly the opposite. Some corners, especially in the second sector, require maximum downforce. Last season, we found excellent settings for our two Porsche 963 in these conditions. Experience will help us make the most of our cars this year as well. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Last year, Porsche managed to make it onto the podium. K\u00e9vin Estre recalls that this was the German manufacturer’s best race for its endurance comeback. “I am convinced that we will be very strong again this year. After the tough race in the World Championship in Austin, we are now determined to turn the tide. The main goal is to defend our lead in the drivers’ championship and to regain the lead in the constructors’ championship,” announces the Frenchman from Porsche #6.<\/p>\n

The German brand could clinch a title as early as this weekend in GT3. The Manthey Pure Racing Porsche #92 is comfortably leading ahead of its sister car, the #91. We are now entering the seventh and penultimate race of the season and we are currently at the top of the standings. It’s fantastic, but it’s also a burden – literally! In Japan, we have to carry 40 kilos of extra weight. In these conditions, it will be difficult to achieve satisfactory results. It will be challenging to fight at the front. However, the final sector of Fuji has many corners, some of which are very tight. As a driver, I like that, and our car should also be able to handle these sections well. We want to defend our lead in the overall standings and take a step closer to the title, analyses Klaus Bachler, driver of the #92.<\/p>\n
