The Hungaroring, which was hosting the Hungarian Grand Prix just a few weeks ago, has turned into a construction site during the summer break. The pit building, where teams and drivers had recently set up for the race, no longer exists. Like many other circuits on the calendar, these works aim at modernizing the track.<\/p>\n
In Mogyor\u00f3d, the town hosting the Hungarian Grand Prix, modernization works are underway. Last week, excavators razed the entire stand structure used during the race less than a month ago. The start and finish line as well as parts of the stands have been removed. These renovations have become essential and follow a demand from Liberty Media, owners of Formula 1.<\/p>\n
The facilities on the circuit were among the oldest on the Formula 1 calendar and no longer met current standards. With no intention of leaving Hungary, Formula 1 had renewed the contract until 2032, but strongly hinted that work was needed. In response, circuit director Zsolt Gyulay had already announced major renovations in July.<\/p>\n
The objective of this work is to meet the standards expected by the discipline. Although the modifications could extend over several years, the majority of the construction should be completed for the 2025 Grand Prix. \u00ab We told you that this was going to happen \u00bb,” commented the official account X of the circuit about the work.<\/p>\n
