In a recent interview with the media, whose words were reported by PlanetF1.com, James Vowles responded to the rumors started by former Formula 1 driver Marcus Ericsson on the ViaPlay F1 Podcast. The Williams team director denied any tension within the team with his American driver.<\/p>\n
Last week, Marcus Ericsson mentioned in the ViaPlay F1 Podcast tensions between James Vowles and Logan Sargeant, stating that the two men were no longer speaking and that the American found his relationship with the team principal quite difficult. Statements that had already been strongly denied by the driver himself.<\/p>\n
Marcus Ericsson, currently in IndyCar, the American car racing championship, had declared in the podcast that he had heard from some acquaintances of Logan Sargeant that the two were in conflict. After hearing the response from the American driver, Marcus Ericsson then acknowledged that his comments were based on rumors and added that his remarks should not be taken as verified information.<\/p>\n
He then promised to offer a beer to Logan Sargeant if they met in IndyCar, as rumors of a possible transfer of the American driver to the American discipline emerged. Prema, a team involved in the discipline, had indeed confirmed being in discussions with Logan Sargeant for a possible collaboration.<\/p>\n
James Vowles took advantage of an interview with the media to put an end to rumors of a conflict with Logan Sargeant. As expected, he stated that the two men were still in touch, even outside of race days. “Logan and I talk, I’m not going to say daily, but on race weekends it’s daily, and outside of that, several times a week, because my job is to do the best for him. If we score points, we need both drivers to do it,” he shared, as reported by PlanetF1.<\/p>\n
