The stakes were high in this long race in Belgium for the junior F1 series: the lead for the championship. Arriving as the leader in Belgium, Isack Hadjar had not secured pole position. His two competitors for the title had blocked his path, with Paul Aron taking pole position and Gabriele Bortoleto securing second place. Isack Hadjar, starting third, managed to overtake Gabriel Bortoleto on track and Paul Aron to take the victory. Paul Aron, who eventually retired, lost significant ground in the championship.<\/p>\n

Two safety cars were deployed this morning at Spa. The first incident unfortunately involved Victor Martins. The French driver had bad luck and was taken out by a car in distress, with Villagomez spinning and hitting the ART car of the tricolor driver. Ollie Bearman, who secured an F1 seat with Haas for 2025, disappointed once again. The British driver missed his first corner, taking out Marti, and both ended up in the tire wall, causing the first safety car. Ollie Bearman will thus have a 5-place grid penalty for the next F2 long race.<\/p>\n

In the championship standings, Isack Hadjar extends his lead with now 165 points against 129 for Bortoleto and 124 for Aron. The other Frenchman, Victor Martins, currently holds 12th place with 57 points.<\/p>\n
