This may be a turning point in the Formula 2 championship. A good performance for French Red Bull protege Isack Hadjar who won the F2 long race this weekend at Silverstone and, in doing so, takes the lead in the championship.<\/p>\n

Launched from pole position in wet but not rainy track conditions, French driver Isack Hadjar managed to win the race despite finishing second, thanks to the 5-second penalty given to Jak Crawford. Paul Aron, who led the championship until then, tumbled down the rankings due to a flat tire and a penalty. Without scoring any points, he handed over the championship lead to Isack Hadjar.<\/p>\n

Victor Martins, who started second in the race, had however a better start than his compatriot. Leading in the early laps, he lost the advantage in the race, battling with Hadjar. Off track in a corner, he lost several positions to finish in 5th place in the end. It is the Barbadian driver, Zane Maloney, who takes second place on the podium with a great comeback. Jak Crawford finally takes third place ahead of Franco Colapinto.<\/p>\n

The long race was marked by the intervention of the safety car twice for single-seaters that had spun. At the start, Kimi Antonelli spun following a slight touch from another driver. Winner yesterday, he had to retire after the first lap. Durksen also had to retire after being pushed by Paul Aron, losing control of his single-seater and causing the penalty that was handed to Aron.<\/p>\n
