The news came last week, Th\u00e9o Pourchaire will not continue his Indycar season with Arrow McLaren. While he had been confirmed to take David Malukas’ place in the Chevrolet #6, the team split from him after five races.<\/p>\n

However, McLaren had confirmed Pourchaire for the remainder of 2024, but it will be Nolan Siegel who will be driving the Chevrolet #6.<\/p>\n

A new seat in Indycar?<\/h2>\n

The French pilot, who was originally supposed to race in Super Formula, had given up his seat to compete in Indycar at the beginning of the season. He hoped to be able to join Formula 1 after gaining a bit more experience. However, in Indycar, contracts are not known to be solid.<\/p>\n

He had made promising starts in the discipline, as evidenced by his race in Detroit: he had reached the 10th position, scoring many points (20). Sauber, to which the French driver is linked through the Sauber Academy, hopes to find him a seat for the rest of the season. But for now, Th\u00e9o Pourchaire will have to settle for his role as a reserve driver for the F1 team.<\/p>\n

Alessandro Alunni Bravi, team manager, has communicated about the future projects he has for his young driver: “We are already working with him to secure another spot in Indycar, with the hope that we can do a few races this year,” he declared to Autosport. “We want him to have a significant race program, so that he is ready to get in the car if needed.”<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that Formula 1, like all other motor sports, requires constant training. With the risk of a nearly blank season for Th\u00e9o Pourchaire, it is his abilities that are being called into question: \u00ab We cannot afford to miss other opportunities for him to drive. For any driver, being a reserve is not enough to stay in good shape for the race.<\/p>\n

While waiting for new opportunities, Th\u00e9o Pourchaire does not despair and reassures his fans on social media:<\/p>\n
