Every year, the FIA modifies its regulations. Next year, there will be no exception. The FIA Commission has approved minor updates to the 2024 rules, but also for this year.<\/p>\n
The first update will take place for standing starts.<\/p>\n
\u00ab The Commission has approved the formalization of an updated procedure for standing starts, whereby, at the discretion of the race director, the safety car can either remain in the pit lane or switch off its orange lights and park on the side of the track, allowing all eligible cars to overtake for the standing start<\/b>. \u00bb<\/p>\n
The Commission also addressed the issue of restarts stopped near the end of the race. Currently, the practice is to always restart the race from a standing grid, provided that the track conditions allow it. However, the Commission has considered the idea of establishing a fixed point in races after which any restart would be done with a rolling start. Furthermore, the question of whether there should be a limit on the total number of allowed stopped restarts in a race has been discussed.<\/p>\n
Finally, the ideas presented did not receive enough support to be pursued at this stage, and the final decision on this matter still rests with the race director, based on the specific conditions of each restart.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
