It was necessary to patiently wait for the final moments of this second race of the weekend at Misano to know the winner. After 26 laps on the day’s schedule, Pascal Wehrlein’s Porsche crossed the finish line first ahead of Jake Dennis and Nick Cassidy, who overtook Nico M\u00fcller in the final meters.<\/p>\n

Starting from pole position in front of Jean-Eric Vergne, Jake Hughes maintained his lead for five laps before the Attack Mode strategy came into play. In a race start similar to the one the day before, where the pack was tightly grouped, Cassidy, starting from eighth, quickly made his way back to the front to battle with Wehrlein and Dennis.<\/p>\n

On the 7th lap, the safety car had to enter the track following Robin Frinjs going off track. At the restart two laps later, it’s Nico M\u00fcller who finds himself in the lead.<\/p>\n

Several incidents followed, starting with the breaking of the front wing of Antonio Felix da Costa’s Porsche. After his disqualification the day before<\/a>, the Portuguese driver definitely had a weekend to forget in Italy. The same misfortune struck Frenchman Norman Nato on the 13th lap, although he managed to finish the race.<\/p>\n

In front, Oliver Rowland, who won on Saturday through a penalty, manages to pull away alongside Wehrlein with a few meters’ lead over Dennis. At the same time, Mitch Evans’ Jaguar stops for a moment at the edge of the track before resuming. This marks the end of any hopes of a good result for the New Zealand driver.<\/p>\n

Even if a spin from Sam Bird stirs up the pack a little, all eyes are on the battle for the top spots raging between Rowland, Wehrlein, Dennis, M\u00fcller, and Cassidy.<\/p>\n

The Nissan driver doesn’t spare his vehicle, and it’s thus just a few turns before the finish line that he has to give up due to a lack of energy. Wehrlein takes advantage of this and becomes the first driver to win two races this season. The German regains the lead in the championship but finds himself tied on points with Jake Dennis. Both men have a nine-point lead over Oliver Rowland.<\/p>\n

Note in this second race at Misano, the arrivals in the points of Sasha Fenestraz in 5th place and Jean-Eric Vergne in 7th. Finally, rookie Jehan Daruvala scored his first points in Formula E with his 9th place.<\/p>\n
