The two drivers, Heidfeld and Kubica, were heavily challenged throughout the GP. An accident for Heidfeld saw his race destroyed, and he eventually finished in 14th position. As for Kubica, he couldn’t withstand Massa’s momentum in the last few meters before the checkered flag and secured 7th place. This battle will go down in Formula 1 history due to the sheer intensity!<\/p>\n
Robert Kubica – 7th<\/b><\/p>\n
“The beginning of the race was very difficult and for me the decision to race was a bit risky, as it was hard to see 50 meters ahead. In any case, we had some issues with water in the air filter and the engine, so I lost a position at the start because I had no power in the engine.”<\/p>\n
“I touched Lewis Hamilton, I made my pit stop then this penalty. I was running much faster than him in corners 13 and 14, he had a completely different line than mine, he came back and we collided. I think it was a racing incident.”<\/p>\n
“Finally, the incredible battle with Felipe Massa, which was a bit risky. He caught up with me before turn number six, then I caught up with him, and then in turn ten, if I had turned normally, there would have been a collision, and I wanted to finish the race. Nick Heidfeld – 14th<\/b><\/p>\n
“In my opinion, the race should not have started in these weather conditions. For me, it was a very difficult situation when the safety car left after 19 laps. My radio didn’t work, and there was a set of circumstances that meant I didn’t know the exact moment when the safety car withdrew.”<\/p>\n
“Fortunately, I saw when she turned off her lights. Due to this small mishap, I was in sixth gear. It was very dangerous because the drivers behind me could barely see me. “It was an extremely disappointing race. We lost our good grid positions when the safety car withdrew. Nick was rear-ended in an accident, and Robert had to brake because of it. Nevertheless, they fought back from the front of the race and gained some positions.”<\/p>\n
