The management confirmed to the press and accepted his departure. They also expressed their sentiments.<\/p>\n<p>The President of Toyota F1, John Howett, stated that the announcement of the German driver would not change the Japanese manufacturer&#8217;s prospects for the 2008 season in any way. It would only allow them to remove a name from the list of potential candidates for the position of second driver, alongside Jarno Trulli.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab We accept Ralf [Schumacher]&#8217;s decision and wish him all the best for his future, \u00bb commented Howett in a report.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Fundamentally, this has no impact on our position. At the moment, we were searching the market for a new driver. So this is still the case.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab The only consequence will be that Ralf [Schumacher] will no longer be part of our list of candidates for the 2008 seats.
