Former ChampCar driver, Michel Jourdain Jr. and current WTCC series driver, announced that he has been contacted by the A1 Team Mexico to drive in Brno this weekend as a main driver.<\/p>\n
\u00ab I am happy and very grateful to Julio, Juan, and Jose Ramon who lead the Mexico team. They allow me to participate in other races, not to mention they are very good friends. \u00bb<\/p>\n
The Mexican continues by explaining his motivation to represent his country: “It’s a good opportunity to represent Mexico and from what I’ve seen, the A1GP series has developed well and works very well. Moreover, people who know me are aware that I enjoy driving, and that on any type of car.”<\/p>\n
Jourdain raced in ChampCar during the 2004 season. He was replaced and since then has tried his hand at the NASCAR Bush series and a few Truck races before joining SEAT this 2007 season as a driver in WTCC, where he is 18th in the championship before the final race.<\/p>\n
\u00ab It’s been a long time since I’ve driven a single-seater, but I’ve been waiting for a while and I will adapt quickly and well, \u00bb he continued.<\/p>\n
\u00ab I wish to thank everyone on the team who enables me to race in Brno. I already know the track since I’ve raced there a few months ago. It’s a very fast, very good circuit, and I really don’t understand why F1 has never been here. \u00bb<\/p>\n
The boss of the Mexican team spoke on this subject: \u00ab He has experience with single-seaters, and the fact that he drove in Brno in mid-June gives us a certain advantage for the races on Sunday. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Mexico is currently 4th in the championship after Salvador Duran finished twice in 4th place at the first event of the 3rd season.<\/p>\n
