Emerson Fittipaldi has promised to come out of the shadows in 2008 to officially test the A1 for the next season.<\/p>\n

Last week, we learned about Ferrari’s entry into the A1 GP championship. The Italian team will supply the chassis and engines for the A1 cars from 2008 until 2010. The single-seaters are expected to be more competitive, and the new A1 championship powered by Ferrari is greatly appealing to Fittipaldi.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian, a former Formula 1 driver, has never driven for the Scuderia, and will be delighted to try the new beast for his first test by February 2008.<\/p>\n

\u00ab When I was informed of the possibility of coming on board with Ferrari, I thought this idea was really brilliant, \u00bb stated Fittipaldi.<\/p>\n

The mere name ‘Ferrari’ is superb, and as a result, people will give greater importance and more respect to the A1GP. When we had a Ferrari visit at Zandvoort, they appreciated the weekend’s proceedings and were very enthusiastic about getting involved in the series.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Ferrari will be able to build a beautiful car, I have never driven for them and I will finally be able to drive one. I will not compete with it, but I want to test it, and I am very happy about it. \u00bb<\/p>\n

The GP2 series is currently, with Hamilton, Rosberg, and Glock, a breeding ground for Formula 1 drivers. But with this new partnership, the Brazilian hopes that the A1 will become the new haven for drivers.<\/p>\n
