A roller-coaster 2007 season undoubtedly characterizes Toro Rosso’s performance. However, the small Scuderia considers itself lucky with its performances, especially in the second half of the season with significant points brought back from Shanghai recently.<\/p>\n
Toro Rosso parted ways with Liuzzi in 2008. The Italian made a strong impression today despite his collision at the start of the Grand Prix, while Vettel, another prodigy, was unable to finish the race due to a mechanical issue.<\/p>\n
The season does not end on a high note, but the overall performances are encouraging.<\/p>\n
Tonio Liuzzi – 13th<\/b><\/p>\n
\u00ab The first corner is always difficult. I saw Fisichella lock his wheels and go straight, and I expected him to miss his turn, so I took the inside, but he came back and hit my nose. My race was already ruined. Then, I think I damaged the car too much, and the car was undriveable. \u00bb<\/p>\n
\u00ab During my last two stints, I was quite effective, but it wasn’t enough to overtake Sato. It’s been a strange season and my future remains uncertain. I hope to find out more very soon! \u00bb<\/p>\n
Sebastian Vettel \u2013 Retirement<\/b><\/p>\n
\u00ab I had to abandon the race due to a hydraulic problem. Until then, the last few races had been good and we were able to prove our progress, even on a dry track. The race ended too quickly but I loved the atmosphere and the Brazilian supporters. \u00bb<\/p>\n
Franz Tost \u2013 Director<\/b><\/p>\n
\u00ab In the beginning, Vettel was very strong, but Liuzzi hit Fisichella and it was over for him, although he had a good race afterward. The second half of this season, particularly Fuji and Shanghai, showed an improvement in our performance. We finished seventh in the championship and that’s what matters. \u00bb<\/p>\n
\u00ab Starting tomorrow we will focus on 2008. It was a good season nonetheless, and I would like to thank Liuzzi on behalf of the whole team for his participation and performance in this last race with us. \u00bb<\/p>\n
