Williams’ management did not even consider letting Rosberg go to another team like McLaren next year…<\/p>\n

It’s Patrick Head, an engineer in the Grove team, who responds to growing speculation about the 22-year-old German driver being the ideal candidate to replace Fernando Alonso next year at McLaren Mercedes.<\/p>\n

Rosberg is under contract with Williams for 2008, but some people have suggested that one of McLaren’s interests might be to buy out Rosberg’s contract, which would be an excellent source of revenue for the Williams team, which, it should be noted, is the only team in the paddock that is still independent. That is to say, it does not receive financial support from a donor or a businessman.<\/p>\n

\u00ab I don’t think Rosberg’s departure would be the death of the team, as he embodies the main source of competition compared to other teams. \u00bb<\/p>\n
