The French team, Renault, has been summoned to appear before a hearing organized by the World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) on December 6th following the accusations made during the espionage case.<\/p>\n
In this case, clearly involving McLaren, accused of possessing information about the Ferrari F2007, the FIA issued a record sentence of a $100 million fine, which has since been converted to $50 million.<\/p>\n
But according to the experts deployed by the Woking team to defend themselves, Renault would have also benefited from confidential information stolen from McLaren, having recovered several CD-ROMs containing technical data of the MP4\/22.<\/p>\n
Very quickly informed, the FIA preferred to handle one case at a time and had not yet investigated Renault, which it is now doing.<\/p>\n
The information collected by Renault reportedly concerns, according to an FIA report, the layout and dimensions of the McLaren F1, as well as details on the fuel system, central oil, hydraulic, and suspension control systems used in 2006 and 2007.<\/p>\n
