Announced in a statement by the president of the Australian GP, Flemington could soon replace Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p>Andrew Fox, CEO of the Phillip Island circuit, stated that he would bring the circuit up to FIA standards if necessary to keep a GP on the oceanic continent.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab A lot of work would be needed to be able to approve our track for F1, but I can guarantee you that we can do it \u00bb, Fox told the Herald Sun newspaper. \u00ab It&#8217;s one of the best circuits in Australia&#8230; \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>If the FIA agreement to move the Melbourne Grand Prix was given in 2008, the circuit would not be available until 2011.
