Hamilton, who made his debut in F1 this year 2007, admitted that he was moving to Switzerland partly to avoid the British tax.<\/p>\n
The 22-year-old McLaren driver had cited respect for privacy as the reason for leaving his home country, Great Britain, several days ago.<\/p>\n
But he acknowledged during a television show hosted by Parkinson that this tax was a problem, as well as the pursuit of numerous photographers.<\/p>\n
Michael Parkinson did his job as a journalist perfectly by asking the Briton the following question: \u00ab I imagine you have also been informed about the tax? \u00bb<\/p>\n
Hamilton replied: \u00ab Indeed, this point certainly contributed to my departure. \u00bb<\/p>\n
Parkinson stated: \u00ab I mistakenly thought you were informed of this point of view, although you had said you were leaving your country to avoid the press. \u00bb<\/p>\n
\u00ab In my opinion, if you want to live in Switzerland and you have the opportunity to do so, do it. I wouldn’t live there if I earned 50 pounds a week. \u00bb<\/p>\n
Hamilton, who recently published his autobiography, also wanted to escape media attention.<\/p>\n
\u00ab I am just a normal person, I try to avoid unreal experiences. I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth, and now in my hometown, I am a superstar. It’s a very, very strange feeling, \u00bb he said.<\/p>\n
\u00ab After going out in the city with my father the other night, we were driven back to my home, and when we got out of the car, I fell into an ambush as some people had followed us on the way back. \u00bb<\/p>\n
