The leaders of the company Hugo Boss announced today that they intend to continue sponsoring Fernando Alonso despite his departure from McLaren-Mercedes.<\/p>\n
Hugo Boss has been a long-time sponsor of McLaren for nearly 10 years. However, they do not have exclusivity with the Woking team and can choose to sponsor another team as well, like Puma does for shoes or suits, for example.<\/p>\n
\u00ab We want to keep him, \u00bb confirmed the Spain-Portugal regional director of Hugo Boss – Briac Pinault to the newspaper ‘El Mundo Deportivo’.<\/p>\n
Pinault continued by reiterating his wish to keep his former world champion. \u00ab I am sad that he left McLaren\u2026 We have a very good relationship with Alonso and we hope that this will not change. \u00bb<\/p>\n
The team that will employ the Spaniard next season will likely have to reach an agreement with Hugo Boss as well, one of the many sponsors the Iberian brings along. This could be a real boon for a Formula 1 team, always in need of funding.<\/p>\n
