After the remarks from the F1 boss about him, Giancarlo Fisichella hit back hard by stating that it’s probably time for Bernie Ecclestone to hang up his boots and retire.<\/p>\n
In an interview on the official F1 website earlier this week, Ecclestone said that Fisichella and Ralf Schumacher have accomplished some great things in recent years and that they should now seriously consider retirement from racing rather than joining Force India.<\/p>\n
Ecclestone stated: \u00ab Both have been in teams for a very long time and now it is no longer possible to envisage better results in the future. \u00bb<\/p>\n
\u00ab They should seriously consider whether it is reasonable to start from scratch in a much less competitive environment. Perhaps if these drivers end up changing teams, they will gradually wake up, \u00bb he added.<\/p>\n
These comments have not deterred Fisichella, who claims he has indeed accomplished very impressive things over the past few years. But by participating in the Jerez tests next week for Force India, he demonstrates his passion for the practice of testing.<\/p>\n
In response, the Italian wrote a letter addressed to Ecclestone:<\/p>\n
