The calendar for the 2008 FIA World Rally Championship was made official during the World Council meeting that took place this weekend. There will only be fifteen events, still across four continents.<\/p>\n

There are some changes compared to the proposal made at the beginning of the season where eighteen events were supposed to share sixteen spots, ultimately selecting only fifteen. Four events are not chosen. South Africa, Cyprus, Poland, and Australia do not have a place. However, Mexico appears. Argentina and Jordan – which will host its first world rally – have had their dates changed.<\/p>\n

We can also confirm that the 76th Monte-Carlo Rally, which will therefore open the season on January 24th, will take place for the second consecutive year around Valence, the prefecture of Drome, only returning to Monaco on the night from Saturday to Sunday. More information in a few weeks.<\/p>\n
