It is worth noting that rumors had the German driver heading to McLaren where a seat is still available.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab There are many people who considered me a probable replacement for a double world champion! \u00bb declared Rosberg in the Gazzetta dello Sport regarding the speculations linking him with McLaren.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab I could have been an interesting candidate for McLaren-Mercedes. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Frank Williams probably would have made a good deal by releasing me, but the fact that he did not means that the team has enough resources to face the future serenely. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u00ab It&#8217;s just a one-year extension. Frank Williams made me a great offer, I feel good within the team, and I am sure we will make more progress. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Rosberg thinks, after two seasons in F1, that he now has enough experience to lead the team. In 2008, he will be alongside Kazuki Nakajima.<\/p>\n<p>And he thinks that even Lewis Hamilton is not quite ready to take on the role of number one in his team.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab As a driver yes, but from a technical standpoint, he will not be able to be a true leader due to his lack of experience.
