Vitantonio Liuzzi stated that he fully understood Force India’s decision to choose Giancarlo Fisichella as a race driver for the 2008 season. However, the young Italian hopes to be back racing very soon.<\/p>\n
Liuzzi was one of the many candidates for securing the second spot within the Indian team. The Silverstone-based team eventually opted for the more experienced driver in the person of Fisichella, ultimately paired with Adrian Sutil for 2008.<\/p>\n
Liuzzi, who raced for Toro Rosso last season, will be Force India’s third driver, but the Italian believes he could return to a much more significant role in the fairly near future.<\/p>\n
The former teammate of Vettel said he had signed a long-term agreement with Force India. He is looking to leverage this test driver role for the years to come.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Giancarlo is a very experienced driver, whereas I am a young driver. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Force India does not currently plan to use Liuzzi as a Friday driver for Free Practice 1 and 2.<\/p>\n
