Last season, it only cost 1690 euros, plus 447 euros per point scored in the championship the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>However, the World Motor Sport Council recently approved a significant increase in the price of this license. The new amount is set at 10,000 euros, plus 2,000 euros per point scored.<\/p>\n<p>For example, this means that the super license for the reigning world champion Kimi R\u00e4ikk\u00f6nen for 2008 will cost him 230,000 euros (2000\u20ac*110 points scored in 2007 + 10,000\u20ac fixed fee, totaling 230,000\u20ac). This represents an increase of 199,255 euros compared to 2007.<\/p>\n<p>The total amount for these licenses for the two Ferrari drivers, who scored 204 points last year, will therefore be 428,000 euros in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Another example with the Renault team. Fernando Alonso&#8217;s super license will cost him a small fortune. Indeed, \u20ac2000*109 points scored in 2007 + \u20ac10000 fixed, for a total of \u20ac228,000. As for Piquet&#8217;s super license, it will cost a mere trifle in comparison!
