The members of the ‘Touring Cars’ committee have set the directions to take for the 2008 season. The FIA experts aimed during this meeting to stay in line with the current regulations while offering more high-performance cars and the possibility for more drivers to register as privateers.<\/p>\n
Among other things, several strict measures have been taken. They particularly concern diesel cars. Thus, as we mentioned a few days ago, TDi engines will be indirectly penalized since the car will no longer have a floor.<\/p>\n
The engines will also be more controlled thanks to a lower ratio of air injected at each cycle, as well as a device for measuring oil pressure, which must decrease.<\/p>\n
The following decisions have been made and will be effective after February 15th, the final date for driver registrations for the 2008 season.<\/p>\n
THE CARS<\/b><\/p>\n

– Chevrolet Lacetti: suspension, ailes, t\u00eate de cylindre Version (30.03.2006); largeur de la voie (27.07.2006); essieu avant, t\u00eate de cylindre, carter \u00e0 huile Version (30.04.2007); sous-structure avant Version (23.05.2007)<\/p>\n
– Honda Accord Euro R: moteur Version (30.03.2006)<\/p>\n
– Peugeot 407: barre anti-roulis (21.07.2005)<\/p>\n
– Seat Le\u00f3n: carter \u00e0 huile, amortisseurs, \u00e9chappement Version (22.08.2005); fond plat (30.03.2006)<\/p>\n
