His departure preceded one of the biggest espionage cases that the F1 world has known, in which he was involved.<\/p>\n<p>Just a few days after announcing his intention to return to the world of motorsport, Stepney confirmed his plans.<\/p>\n<p>A statement released by Gigawave indicates Stepney&#8217;s exact roles: \u00ab His position will cover all areas concerning motorsports in which Gigawave Ltd is involved. This includes the ongoing development of our products, camera systems that are used by the leading racing teams. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Gigawave Ltd estimates that an engineer of Nigel Stepney&#8217;s caliber can only bring positive contributions due to his experience in the field of technological development. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>In addition to its activities in motorsport, Gigawave will support a team in the FIA GT Championship this year, managing an Aston Martin DBR9.<\/p>\n<p>Stepney stated in an interview for Sky Sports that he is no longer interested in working in F1: \u00ab I have many other more interesting opportunities by focusing on the fundamentals of racing. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Don&#8217;t get me wrong, but I worked in F1 for many years.
