The Spaniard, driver for the Citro\u00ebn Sport team, recorded the best time today in the Shakedown of the Monte Carlo Rally \u2013 a tuning event.<\/p>\n
The Citro\u00ebn C4 No. 2 driver set the best time during his last run on the Vernoux en Vivarais stage, beating S\u00e9bastien Loeb, four-time reigning world champion and Citro\u00ebn No. 1, by just half a second.<\/p>\n
The event took place this morning in Ard\u00e8che under almost spring-like conditions.<\/p>\n
Sordo commented: \u00ab Yes, it’s true that it’s a good start, but it’s not that important in the rally. The most important part will be tomorrow and that’s when I want to be the fastest!<\/p>\n
Loeb, on his part, admitted to being afraid of his teammate. For him, he represents the greatest threat to stealing the victory of a 5th Monte-Carlo.<\/p>\n
\u00ab Look at what he did here last year, \u00bb said the Frenchman.<\/p>\n
\u00ab He was very fast and this year, it will be the same, that’s for sure. Dani will be a threat all season, but certainly more on asphalt than elsewhere. \u00bb<\/p>\n
The podium is completed by a Subaru, Solberg’s, while Duval, exceptionally participating in a WRC event, finishes 4th.<\/p>\n
