The Alsatian, who was participating in his hundredth world rally, received a 50-second penalty for arriving five minutes late to the midday service.<\/p>\n
A worn-out clutch forced him to push his Citro\u00ebn C4 WRC to the Citro\u00ebn area where only four mechanics were allowed to work for fifteen minutes. The regulations for remote service areas limited spare parts to those carried in the cars, so the mechanics were unable to perform the necessary repairs.<\/p>\n
Loeb left the service park without a clutch and with a water pressure problem that certainly affected his engine. After ten kilometers towards the fifth special stage, the reigning World Champion stopped.<\/p>\n
It is not yet certain whether S\u00e9bastien Loeb will resume in Superally tomorrow. The decision will be confirmed later.<\/p>\n
