Max Mosley stated this weekend that he would probably not be ready to retire as president of the FIA during the next elections in October 2009.<\/p>\n
The 67-year-old Briton, who in 2004 refused to resign from his position, told The Times newspaper that he still saw a certain amount of work to be done in his role as FIA director.<\/p>\n
Mosley, despite the controversy surrounding his four terms as FIA president, insists that he wants to steer the sport towards renewable energy (energy recovery) with, why not, a new engine in this direction for 2013.<\/p>\n
He refuses to officially announce his intentions beyond the end of 2009, but is certain that nothing and no one should prevent him from completing his current term.<\/p>\n
\u00ab However, I remain relatively sane. I will not disappear until October 2009; beyond that date, I think very, very carefully, \u00bb he said.<\/p>\n
\u00ab It’s a sport that works better with a person capable of making a decision. \u00bb<\/p>\n
Mosley also specified that he has no interest in the demands for him to resign from his current role.<\/p>\n
