Under a threatening gray sky, it was American Jack Crawford who seized the pole position after a very disrupted qualifying session. Three red flags were deployed during it. Fortunately for him, the very young (18 years old) Hitech driver had already set his time during the first pit stop. Shortly after the opening of the pit lane, Frenchman Isack Hadjar set the best time, but Crawford quickly snatched it away from him.<\/p>\n
The provisional leader was also unable to go for another lap after the second pit stop as he damaged his front wing in the pit lane. Nothing alarming for him though, as the Indian Daruvala caused the first red flag by spinning out shortly after.<\/p>\n
When the session resumed, there was another interruption very quickly after Van Amersfoort Racing driver Juan Manuel Correa went off into the gravel. Jack Crawford was able to breathe a sigh of relief because this second red flag prevented Norwegian driver Dennis Hauger from completing a lap that would have likely put him in first place.<\/p>\n
Third departure, Cl\u00e9ment Novalak, the Frenchman from Trident, goes out at the third turn. Third and final red flag, no one will be able to set a time with less than a minute remaining. Session over then, Crawford will be on pole on Sunday, ahead of Hauger and Frederik Vesti. The championship leader Th\u00e9o Pourchaire is only 10th, but the Frenchman is consoled with pole position for the sprint race.<\/p>\n
