Chris Atkinson delivered the best performance of his career this weekend at the Rally Mexico. For the third round of the 2008 season, the Subaru driver achieved a very impressive performance by finishing second on the podium.<\/p>\n

This result, coupled with the podium already achieved this season at Monte-Carlo, allows him to take fourth place in the drivers’ championship, 6 points behind the leader, Mikko Hirvonen.<\/p>\n

More reserved last season, the Australian, from the Loeb generation, thus gets the upper hand over his teammate Petter Solberg, who was world champion in 2003.<\/p>\n

Atkinson began the final day of the Rally Mexico in second position with a lead of more than a minute over the third-placed Latvala. With nothing to gain, he secured his position in the last three special stages to bring his Subaru Impreza back to Leon without any issues on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n
