The Japanese team Suzuki, present this season only in the WRC – World Rally Championship – has announced a change in its management. Akira Kawada, who had been the team manager since the end of 2007 and the team’s beginnings in the WRC, has chosen to resign. He will be replaced as soon as possible by Paul Wilding.<\/p>\n

This appointment follows the resignation of Akira Kawada, who decided to resume his activities as an automotive journalist in his home country, Japan.<\/p>\n

Wilding (39 years old) will make his debut at the Argentine Rally in less than two weeks. A long-time collaborator of Suzuki Sport Japan, the Australian has been involved in most of the brand’s rally projects. He was the coordinator of the Suzuki team in J-WRC in 2002 before taking responsibility for the team competing in the Asia-Pacific Championship between 2002 and 2004. He returned to the J-WRC team in 2006.<\/p>\n

Wilding also managed the entries of ‘Monster’ Tajima in international hill climb races, such as Pikes Peak.<\/p>\n
