Adam Carroll, for A1 Team Ireland, delivered the perfect race during the second event of the weekend known as the Endurance race. The Irishman clinched his first win in A1 GP, as did his team. Great Britain took second place once again, ahead of the United States.<\/p>\n
Carroll was not in pole position, but benefited from a very good strategy and a bit of luck to secure his first victory in the motorsport World Cup.<\/p>\n
Initially, Switzerland with Neel Jani got off to a very good start, quickly taking the lead and breaking away on its own. After 5 laps, it was already 5 seconds ahead of the pack and Ireland.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately for him, a safety car, deployed following the accident in Italy, which blew up its front wing on a curb, erased the gap he had built, benefiting Ireland, which caught up with Switzerland’s exhaust gases.<\/p>\n
During the pit stops, Jani and Carroll entered the pits at the same time and exited almost simultaneously. The two men were indeed neck and neck before accelerating again. However, Jani hurried to remove his speed limiter, well before the end of the restriction line. He thus regained the advantage over Ireland but was penalized a few minutes later, with the victory going to Ireland.<\/p>\n
Oliver Jarvis for Great Britain finishes second, just like in race 1, while Jonathan Summerton (USA) reaches the podium for the second time this season.<\/p>\n
The Netherlands take an excellent 4th position after starting from 13th place on the grid, ahead of Germany.<\/p>\n
France was unable to come back after only qualifying 12th and even finished in 14th position. Jonathan Cochet was very disappointed at the finish.<\/p>\n
