The FIA confirmed the exclusion of Ricardo Trivino, who had finished in eighth place at the Rally Mexico, held two weeks ago, for wearing non-compliant gloves.<\/p>\n
The race stewards had excluded Trivino from the second day following a report from the assistant of the FIA technical delegate stating that Trivino was wearing a garment that did not meet the safety requirements of the FIA – F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Internationale de l’Automobile.<\/p>\n
Trivino, who was driving a Peugeot 206 WRC specially designed for his home rally, had then decided to appeal the decision and was allowed to continue the event until the final stage. But his appeal was not confirmed afterwards, so the decision of the stewards was upheld and the official announcement was made today.<\/p>\n
This exclusion causes the Mexican to lose the eighth-place point and allows S\u00e9bastien Ogier (Citroen C2) to score a point in the World Drivers’ Championship, a first for a competitor in the Junior WRC Championship.<\/p>\n
