Christian Horner, in his own name, indeed believes that the recent suspension issues have no reason to worry him, despite the FIA conducting its own investigation.<\/p>\n
David Coulthard encountered two major problems during the first two Grand Prix of the season, resulting in a more or less distant suspension failure of the Red Bull RB4.<\/p>\n
The FIA then took the matter into its own hands by studying its suspensions more closely. But a few tests and especially a weekend without other incidents were enough, according to Horner, to convince of the solidity of its equipment.<\/p>\n
The FIA had all the elements in hand to justify or not a disqualification of the team due to the suspensions. Personally, I have complete confidence in the team and the single-seater and I find the FIA’s decision to inspect the RB4 as a precaution absolutely normal.<\/p>\n
David [Coulthard] simply went off track and hit the curbs too quickly at turn 14. The strength of our suspensions is not in question and the FIA understood that well, so I have no shame!<\/p>\n
With the incident in Malaysia, the team missed two practice sessions with Coulthard, which could pose a problem during the race, but Webber still managed to score the team’s first point of the season.<\/p>\n
\u00ab If we hadn’t encountered all these problems, especially with Webber’s car during the race, we could have been much better ranked. Webber had a fuel pump issue which forced him to pit earlier, compromising his strategy. As for Coulthard, he simply didn’t have enough time to improve the car… \u00bb<\/p>\n
