Augusto Farfus dominated the first day of private testing in Valencia (Spain) for the World Touring Car Championship – WTCC.<\/p>\n
The Brazilian, driving the BMW 320si, proved to be the fastest, being the only one to break the 1’43” mark. He was accompanied by 10 other drivers, including James Thompson who finally revealed the first lap times of the new Honda Accord from the N.Technology team.<\/p>\n
\u00ab We have a lot of work to do because it’s our first official test. But we are working hard, we’re turning the mechanics a lot, and we really want to be competitive for the next round of the championship. For now, I’m as excited as a kid with a new toy… \u00bb Commented the British driver.<\/p>\n
The N.Technology team completed 54 laps with the 10th best time, just ahead of Andy Priaulx \u2013 the reigning double champion \u2013 in another BMW.<\/p>\n
BMW achieved a double victory thanks to Jorg Muller, but the diesel Seat Leon cars are not far behind. The Frenchman, Yvana Muller, and vice-world champion, is in 4th place. Just ahead of the only Chevrolet Lacetti, 5th with Larini.<\/p>\n
The test will continue tomorrow as Jordi Gen\u00e9 and Yvan Muller will give way to Rickard Rydell and Tiago Monteiro, while Alain Menu will replace Nicolas Larini at Chevrolet.<\/p>\n
