Heikki Kovalainen has been penalized with a five-place grid drop for the French Grand Prix for blocking Mark Webber, confirmed the FIA.<\/p>\n
The McLaren driver had qualified in sixth position but has just been reprimanded because the race stewards deemed that he had prevented Webber from completing his fast lap.<\/p>\n
A statement released by the FIA states: \u00ab the driver of car 23 drove very slowly for a lap and impeded the driver of car 10 who was on a fast lap. \u00bb<\/p>\n
It’s a double penalty for McLaren, which saw its other driver, Lewis Hamilton, dropped 10 places after the incident in the pits at the Canadian Grand Prix.<\/p>\n
