The team delayed announcing the second driver while Robert Kubica was made official a few weeks ago. Fernando Alonso could have taken the German&#8217;s place.<\/p>\n<p>All these rumors ended this Monday when BMW confirmed its driver lineup for 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Heidfeld will be on track for a fourth consecutive season with the Hinwil team. The German admitted that he was delighted BMW decided to retain him.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab I am very happy with this announcement and the trust that the team has in me, \u00bb stated Heidfeld.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab I have always said that I would be happy to stay with BMW-Sauber because we have managed to achieve our goals.
