The latter was canceled in 2009.<\/p>\n<p>The FFSA released a press statement on Tuesday stating that it did not wish to continue promoting the event. As a result, the race scheduled at Magny-Cours on June 28, 2009, has been canceled.<\/p>\n<p>The board of directors has not yet been officially informed of the situation. A letter has therefore been written to the president of the FFSA, Nicolas Deschaux, asking for explanations regarding the FFSA&#8217;s position.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for the FIA stated: \u00ab The secretary-general of the FIA wrote today to the president of the FFSA asking to clarify the situation of the French Grand Prix as soon as possible. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Until today, we have heard nothing and we are concerned. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>The FFSA is considering six options for a future return of Formula 1 to the country.
