The goal remains to install it on the car for the start of the season.<\/p>\n<p>However, if new obstacles arise before Melbourne, Ferrari is considering an option to compensate for the absence of the KERS during the race.<\/p>\n<p>Aldo Costa, technical director at Ferrari, stated for Gazzetta dello Sport: \u00ab The goal is to arrive at the race in Australia with a functioning KERS, but we also have a plan B: Not another car, but a version without KERS. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Gilles Simon, head of the engine department, added: \u00ab We are completing the development of the KERS. We have prepared a hybrid car to test it, but the system is not quite ready.
