The newspaper crowned the Spaniard for his good results with Renault, despite a very disappointing car at the beginning of the season. According to the daily, he was able to adapt and work with the engineers to get back in the race for victory.<\/p>\n
The newspaper thus revealed yesterday, on the last day of the year 2008, its top 10 Formula 1 drivers. Fernando Alonso is therefore the first in this ranking, ahead of his eternal rival, the Englishman Lewis Hamilton. The world vice-champion, Felipe Massa, is third.<\/p>\n
\u00ab Why Alonso? \u00bb asks the newspaper to its readers. \u00ab Because he was not driving the best car at the start of the season with Renault, but by having a very good cooperation with his engineers, they were able to get back among the leading teams. \u00bb<\/p>\n
\u00ab This level of performance, \u00bb adds the newspaper, \u00ab allowed him to secure two victories, but most importantly, to score more points than anyone else in the last six Grand Prix. \u00bb<\/p>\n
This article only fuels the rumors about Alonso’s move to Ferrari in 2011.
