But the track remained closed today due to poor weather conditions, forcing the teams to stay in the garage. Fernando Alonso therefore did not complete any laps today.<\/p>\n<p>With just one day of work in proper conditions, Renault is now counting on more favorable weather for its upcoming test session at the Jerez circuit from February 10 to 13.<\/p>\n<p>Fernando Alonso declared: \u00ab What a rain! It&#8217;s a shame not to have been able to run today especially because at this stage of the season, we are usually trying to optimize our track time. However, I am satisfied with the tests I was able to do yesterday in the dry; we learned a lot. I will be on track in Jerez for our next session and I hope we will make good progress with the car. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Christian Silk, Chief Test Engineer added: \u00ab While we faced deplorable weather conditions, these tests remain encouraging. Our current focus is on the car&#8217;s reliability and safety features, and everything went very well in that regard.<\/p>\n<p>We are disappointed not to have been able to benefit from better conditions to test our performance level, but we were still able to accumulate kilometers on our new package, and that&#8217;s already a good thing.
