Nick Heidfeld completed his first tests at the wheel of the new BMW-Sauber F1.09 this Friday. He took over from his teammate Robert Kubica in Valencia, Spain, who had driven the car during the shakedown and the past two days.<\/p>\n
The German completed 92 laps on the Spanish track.<\/p>\n
However, the team was forced to adjust its schedule for the day due to the gusty winds. Heidfeld mainly focused on reliability.<\/p>\n
\u00ab I finally got to drive the F1.09 for the first time. We still have a lot of work to do, but we are making progress with every kilometer and reliability is already there. Overall, the F1.09 is very different from last year’s model. \u00bb<\/p>\n
\u00ab Fortunately, I managed to work on the setup in the afternoon. The most important result of my first day of testing is that the car reacts as expected, \u00bb commented Heidfeld.<\/p>\n
