Renault says it is optimistic about the progress it has made over the past few weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Executive Director of Engineering Pat Symonds said: \u00ab We have made significant progress over the past few weeks and I am much more confident of seeing the system on the car for the start of the Melbourne Grand Prix. There&#8217;s no guarantee about this, but for something that was very unlikely before Christmas, I&#8217;d like to say it&#8217;s now likely. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>The progress made by Renault on its KERS also constitutes good news for Red Bull Racing, which will use the same system.<\/p>\n<p>Renault encountered difficulties during its initial tests with the R29 in Portugal a few days ago, but the team is hopeful that aerodynamic improvements scheduled for March 29 will enhance overall performance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Renault team is increasingly convinced that its KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) will be ready for the start of the season.
