The engine limit has been reduced this year from 19,000 rpm to 18,000 rpm, and we will only have 8 engines for the entire 2009 season. We can use them from the first Grand Prix to the last, and some engines will have to last for three Grand Prix instead of two as last year.<\/p>\n
It will be very interesting to see which teams will use KERS: the kinetic energy recovery system; it is generated from braking. It is converted into electrical energy by the generator (ECU) and charges batteries.<\/p>\n
With Boost, we have 6.5 seconds of extra power and 82Nm of additional torque! We can use it only once until the next braking.<\/p>\n
If you trigger it too late and brake with the boost, you’re guaranteed to spin out!<\/p>\n
After 11 years, slick tires make a comeback! No grooves, better grip, and much more fun to drive!<\/p>\n
Finally, this year, the driver has even more influence over his car! We must do the right thing, at the right time!<\/p>\n
