The governing body of Formula 1, the FIA, announced on Monday that it has agreed to reduce the fees for the super-license starting from the 2010 season.<\/p>\n
The drivers were unhappy with the significant increase in the license fee in 2009, which had already been raised at the start of the 2008 season.<\/p>\n
But the FIA declared yesterday, Monday, that following a meeting between GPDA members and Max Mosley, it was agreed that the amount for the famous drivers’ license would be reduced starting next year.<\/p>\n
According to a statement from the FIA: \u00ab After a very positive meeting between the FIA President, Max Mosley, and representatives of the Formula 1 drivers’ association, a proposal will be made to the World Motor Sport Council to review the super license fees for the 2010 championship. \u00bb<\/p>\n
A super license would reflect the significant cost reductions that will be introduced in the sport next season.<\/p>\n
A number of other issues were discussed and the FIA agreed to meet with GPDA representatives on a regular basis to maintain what promises to be a constructive dialogue.<\/p>\n
