Force India will begin using a Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) in mid-July. It was announced by the team’s owner and boss, Vijay Mallya.<\/p>\n
The Indian team principal stated to the magazine GPWeek<\/i> that the Mercedes-Benz system currently used by McLaren will be installed on the VJM002 from the ninth round of the 2009 championship, which means during the German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring circuit.<\/p>\n
\u00ab In Germany, we will introduce the KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) because the car will be set up to have it and because we have a contract with Mercedes for the use of its KERS, \u00bb said Mallya.<\/p>\n
In Bahrain, nearly two weeks ago, eight drivers from the McLaren, Ferrari, Renault, and BMW-Sauber teams had the KERS on their single-seaters.<\/p>\n
But Mallya thinks that mid-season is the best time for Force India to start using the technology.<\/p>\n
