The Italian then stated that Formula 1 would become a two-tier championship.<\/p>\n<p>The FIA president then responded that the sport could survive without Ferrari, the only team present in the championship since 1950.<\/p>\n<p>Ecclestone believes that Mosley simply wanted to put di Montezemolo in his place. The Formula 1 supremo thinks that the sport is the perfect place for Ferrari.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab I don&#8217;t think that Max [Mosley] really meant what he said, he just wanted to respond to Luca [di Montezemolo], \u00bb Ecclestone told Reuters.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Formula 1 is made for Ferrari and Ferrari is made for Formula 1.
